Water enough to flood the world had to come from somewhere. From where did the Great Flood spring forth?

Genesis reads, "On the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened." The "great deep" or "abyss" is the primordial waters of Creation.
