Common in Europe but rare in America, this medium to large agaric has a rust-colored cap. Can you name these phenomenal fungi?
Answer Red-Banded Cort
This inedible fungus is scientifically known as Cortinarius armillatus, but many know it best as the Red-banded Cort. It's a late summer to autumn species usually found in moist coniferous forests with a rust-colored, bell-shaped, fibrous cap.
