Tibetans call this high point Chomolungma, often translated as "Goddess Mother of the World"

The world's tallest mountain goes by many names besides (the British-bestowed) Mount Everest. The border between Nepal and the Chinese-claimed region of Tibet crosses right through the mountain's peak, and all three languages have their own name for it: Chomolungma (Tibetan), Sagarmāthā (Nepali), and Zhūmùlǎngmǎ (Chinese).
