This writer/director/actor was known for his work in film noir and was most famous for his role as Charles Foster Kane in the film Citizen Kane. He also starred in a dark adaptation of Jane Eyre. His 1938 radio program, War of the Worlds terrified the public at large.

Orson Welles was a talented pioneer in the fields of cinematography and directing. He had an unusual vision for the films he was associated with and many of them were groundbreaking, not the least of which, his dramatic retelling of H.G. Wells', War of the Worlds, which he narrated so convincingly over the radio that people were in utter panic trying to flee populated areas and avoid hostile alien visitors.
