This trumpeter made his mark in in 1968 with his album Promise of a Future and a number one instrumental hit. Name that song that he once described as "just a filler"?
Answer Grazing in the Grass
Hugh Masekela's "Grazing in the Grass" was inspired by a novelty song featuring cowbell he heard in Zambia called "Mr. Bull Dog No. 5". In 1968, "Grazing in the Grass" became the 18th biggest hit of the year. One year later, a cover by the band Friends of Distinction added lyrics and hit number 3 on the charts.
