This Texan thespian won an Oscar for a 1993 film about a man on the run.

The son of an oil field laborer, Tommy Lee Jones won a football scholarship to the prestigious Dallas boarding school, St. Mark's. He then went on to Harvard, where he was roomies with future vice president Al Gore.
