G-funk pioneer Nate Dogg (1969–2011) was best known for his infectious hooks on collaborations with West Coast hip hop artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Tupac Shakur. He suffered a series of strokes, including one in 2008 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. He died at age 41 in 2011.
