Bristol Aeroplane Company started venturing into cars after WWII when they gained access to BMW technology. The handmade Bristol 405 was their sports sedan, produced between 1955 and 1958. And even though it only made around 100 horsepower, the handling was described as sports car-like. Perhaps this was one of the first sports sedans ever.
