This North African king said of Rome: "O city, you would sell yourself if you could only find a buyer." Who is this King of Numidia?

Answer King Jugurtha

In his attempts to free North Africa from Roman rule in the 1st century AD, Jugurtha got a bit sassy. Rome came to a deal with Jugurtha, dividing North Africa, allowing him to rule the western half. But he was not satisfied and assassinated the two sons with whom he shared the rule, killing some Roman merchants while at it. This stoked the flames in Rome, and the King of Numidia was eventually seized and killed, after holding his own admirably against the great empire.
