After fighting on the side of the British in the War of 1812, Shawnee warrior chief, Tecumseh, led his own war against the U.S. to save his Great Lakes territory. He wanted to unite the various North American tribes against the cause and build an Indian confederacy. However, he was killed in the Battle of the Thames, ending his fight.
