This man was no friend of Stalin. Name that communist theorist.

Answer Leon Trotsky

Leading Russia into the 20th century with the October Revolution of 1917, Leon Trotsky was a communist theorist and the early Soviet Union's commissar of foreign affairs under Vladimir Lenin. When ol' Vlad died, Trotsky had Joseph Stalin to contend with and, unfortunately for Trotsky, Stalin pulled out ahead. Trotsky lived in exile for the remainder of his days, which turned out to be numbered. The anti-Stalinist leader died by assassination in 1940.
