This limited-edition muscle car was designed to tear drag strips apart. Only 100 examples were built, none of which were suitable for road use due to the sheer amount of brutal power. What was the name of this beast?
Answer Ford Thunderbolt
The Thunderbolt was a true drag strip monster. The power output of its dual-carburated 427 cu in V8 was, by some estimates, around 600 hp, and the interior was stripped-out and the total weight was significantly cut thanks to plexiglass windows. All that meant that Thunderbolt could run a 1/4 mile in the mid-10 second range, making it one of the fastest cars on the drag strip even today.
