Christopher George Latore Wallace (1972-1997), aka The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls, or just Biggie, is widely considered to be one of the best rappers of all time. First signed by Sean "Puffy" Combs, Biggie was an East Coast rapper with a melodic, laid back rhyming style and vivid stories to tell about his life on Brooklyn's rough streets. Sadly, Biggie was a casualty of the mid-'90s feud between East and West coast rappers: amid rampant rumors of his involvement in Tupac's murder the previous year, Biggie was killed in a drive-by shooting while visiting Los Angeles in 1997.
