This handsome actor made movies like, Bedtime for Bonzo, Cattle Queen of Montana, and King's Row, which elevated his acting career. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild for seven years and was active on the House Un-American Activities Committee. It should be no surprise he later chose a life in politics.
Answer Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan began as a radio announcer and a remote baseball game announcer. Just for fun, he took a screen test and made 19 movies in his first two years, including Knute Rockne, All American in which he played the role of George "The Gipper" Gipp, a nickname which stayed with him the rest of his life. His second wife, Nancy, was also an actor and they appeared in only one film together, Hellcats of the Navy. He was assigned to the First Motion Picture Unit in the American Armed Forces Public Relations when he enlisted due to poor eyesight disqualifying him for combat.
