Adam Michael Goldstein (1973–2009), known professionally as DJ AM, was an acclaimed American DJ. Thanks in large part to his relationship with reality star Nicole Richie, Goldstein's career took off in the mid 2000s; in 2006, he landed a $1 million contract for a weekly performance at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Despite his growing success, Goldstein continued to wrestle with the addiction that had plagued him since his early teens. Sadly, he died from a drug overdose in 2009 at age 36.
