This entertaining actor was nominated for Academy Awards as best actor three times for his roles in "My Man Godfrey" playing opposite Carol Lombard, "The Thin Man" series playing opposite Myrna Loy and "Life with Father" playing opposite Irene Dunn.
Answer William Powell
William Powell was one of Hollywood's most appealing leading men, handsome enough to romance the ladies and everyday enough to be versatile. He worked alongside actresses such as Carole Lombard (to whom he was married for a time), Irene Dunn, Lillian Gish and Faye Wray and most notably, Myrna Loy with whom he made many films including 14 "Thin Man" films as Nick Charles. He acted in several quirky films as well including "Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid." He played the same character twice, nine years apart, first in "The Great Ziegfeld" in 1936 and in "The Ziegfeld Follies" in 1945.
