Teofilo Stevenson competed as a Cuban amateur boxer from 1966 until 1986. He was the recipient of the Val Barker Trophy and was inducted into the Olympic Order. He might have become a five-time Olympic champion if the Cuban government had not boycotted the Summer Olympics in 1984 and 1988.
