This Connecticut son is a radio regular. Who is he?

In John Mayer's 2002 debut single, "No Such Thing", he sings "I want to run through the halls of my high school; I want to scream at the top of my lungs." He's probably speaking of his own school days. About his time at Fairfield High in his hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut, Mayer has said that he fell into "the forgotten category of kids who were kind of invisible in school." Thankfully, Mayer discovered the guitar, which helped him establish his identity. Decades later, he donated a guitar to an auction benefiting the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School in nearby Newtown.
