This capital of Prince Edward Island was named for the wife of King George III
Answer Charlottetown
The daughter of a German duke and princess, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz spoke no English on the day she married King George III. A quick study, she learned English swiftly (though never lost her thick Germanic accent). Like her good pal Marie Antoinette, Charlotte was an enthusiastic patron of the arts and an amateur botanist. After Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, she is the second longest-serving consort in British history: a total of 57 years and 70 days, from her marriage on September 8, 1761, to her death on November 17, 1818.
