This 1968 black and white film opens with one of the most spine-chilling scenes in recent film history. A brother and sister, visiting a cemetery, spot a strange figure limping along, seemingly coming toward them. The pace is slow but inexorable and menacing. Can you name this film?
Answer Night of the Living Dead
In a later interview, director George Romero explained how he and a talented group of people came to make "Night of the Living Dead," which also was credited with making a social statement on racism in America. Romero explained they did not plan to make a racial statement, and Duane Jones was cast as the plucky but ill-fated hero, Ben, because he was the best actor.
