Devo's famous "Energy Domes" were first worn during the band's "Freedom of Choice" campaign of 1980, most notably during the video for "Whip It". As explained by Devo member Mark Mothersbaugh: "We were influenced both by German Bauhaus movement and geometric fashion, and Aztec temples. We just liked the look."
