The Spanish-ribbed Newt (nicknamed the Wolverine newt after the X-Men character) has an incredible defense mechanism where it can rotate certain bones so that they break out of the skin and become a poisoned defense weapon. What bones are these?
Answer Ribs
This newt can rotate its ribs so they stick out of the skin becoming poisoned as they do so. They can then rotate them back into place at which point the skin begins healing.
