With mountains and canyons and deserts galore, Namibia's diverse landscape is a sight to behold...but not so much to live in. Home to only 2.5 million, the small country has plenty of hidden gems – like Namib-Naukluft Park, one of the world's largest conservation areas, and the Namib desert, the oldest desert in the world – which is probably why it's called the "gem of Africa".
