The smallest of all penguins, the little blue is the only one native to this continent where it is sometimes called the fairy penguin

These sweet little critters are only about 12 inches high and weigh in between three and five pounds. While Aussies prefer "fairy penguins", New Zealanders prefer "little blue penguins" — except for the Māori people, who call them "kororā".
