The second National Park ever established was called Mackinac and was only a National Park for 20 years before it was demoted to a state park. Where is it located?

Answer Michigan

After the Civil War, Michigan's Mackinac Island was designated as the second national park in the country, three years after the establishment of Yellowstone. When an influx of tourists came, a Grand Hotel was built, people who lived opened up shops, and people built cottages to spend their summers. But in 1895, the Feds left the island and decided they were no longer interested in running it, so they transferred it to the state. To this day, Mackinac is a popular Michigan tourist spot.
