The partnership of Charles Dow and Edward Davis Jones changed history. How did these two meet years before starting their company in 1882?
Answer They both worked at a newspaper
Jones and Dow met when they were working together at the Providence Evening Press in Rhode Island. They were both interested in reporting on the rising influence of Wall Street without bias. In other words, they refused to take bribes to report favorably - or unfavorably - about companies in order to influence the stock price. The first offices of their company, Dow, Jones & Company, were located in the basement of the candy store.
