Although A Star is Born was the first all-color film to receive an Oscar nomination in 1938, it wasn't until Gone with the Wind came around two years later that it took home the top prize. Apparently, Hollywood was slow to "get with the times," as it wasn't until two decades later, in 1956, that all Best Picture nominees were full color.
