The name Daimler is generally associated with Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz. However, there used to be another marque of the same name that belonged to a prominent manufacturer — which one?

Founded in 1896 in Coventry, United Kingdom, The Daimler Company Limited had no relation whatsoever to Mercedes — although it's name was a tribute to Gottlieb Daimler. Jaguar took control of the company in 1960 and sold top-of-the-line versions of their luxury sedans under the Daimler name up until 2010.
