The original Jaguar E-Type, also known as the Series 1, was unveiled in March 1961. It was originally available either as a fixed head coupe or a roadster and was powered by a 3.8-liter straight-six that cranked out 265 brake horsepower. Combined with the relatively low weight and the body's aerodynamic shape, it allowed the E-Type to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a little under 7 seconds.
