The Germans, the Americans, and the British fought over these South Pacific islands in what war?

Answer Samoan Civil Wars

Samoa was a key commercial island nation, and so, when civil war broke out over who was king, Germany, Great Britain, and the U.S. all had their noses in it. Sending warships to the island, the "Samoan Crisis" ensued. The U.S. and Britain teamed up against Germany, and after a number of battles, came to the "Tripartite Convention" agreement. They had decided amongst themselves that the Samoan monarchy simply didn't exist and divided the islands up, with the West going to Germany and the East to the U.S.
