The Confederate President and a Union General both share the same name. What is it?

Answer Jefferson Davis

Jefferson Davis may be a hero to both sides of the Civil War – and that's because there are two of them; one, a Union general, the other the Confederate president. In fact, legend has it that a group of Confederates approached a Union camp during the 1863 Battle of Chickamauga, only to be asked to identify themselves. When they truthfully said they were "Jeff Davis' troops," they were allowed to pass. Turns out, they were talking about the other Jeff Davis.
