The BMW 3.0 CSL was a homologation special based on BMW's CSi grand tourer. Do you know what the letter "L" stood for?
Answer Lightweight
The L in the "CSL" stood for lightweight unlike in other BMW designations where it usually meant long. The lightness of the CSL was achieved by using thinner steel to build the body, deleting the trim and soundproofing. Unfortunately, it was never sold in the United States.
