The blooms on this tree existed before bees so the theory goes that its flowers were pollinated by beetles. What is this beautiful tree?

Larger species of Magnolia can grow more than 80 feet in height. Its leaves are dark green and oval shaped and are covered with layer of wax. Leaves are evergreen and they are alternately arranged on the branches.
