The Aussies didn't escape unscathed by WWII. Which Australian city did Japan attack in February of 1942?
Answer Darwin
On February 19, 1942, the largest single attack by a foreign power on Australia occurred at Darwin's harbor. In two raids, 242 Japanese bombers laid the harbor flat, so that the Allies wouldn't be able to use the town's airfields and harbor as bases. And that wasn't the last that Australia saw of Japan. From 1942 to 1943, the Japanese flew over 100 air raids against Australia.
