The Arab Spring was a series of protests that led to governmental changes in a variety of Arab countries in the early 2010s. The revolutions began in late 2010 in Tunisia, when protests arose, which later spread across the Maghreb into the MIddle East. By January of 2011, Tunisia's government had been overthrown and converted into a healthy democracy, which it remains today.
