The Abyss is a decadent imperial stout released every fall by Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. To create this elixir, brewers blend fresh imperial stout with a batch that spent a year aging in bourbon and wine barrels. If you're lucky enough to be in Oregon, you can even get a bottle of 100 percent barrel-aged Abyss, but it will cost you.
