Taller than the Eiffel Tower, this mammoth rock in Australia called Uluru is a sacred place to whom?

Sacred to the Aboriginal Pitjantjatjara tribe, Uluru was more commonly known as Ayers Rock (after the late 19th century Chief Secretary of South Australia Sir Henry Ayers) until the '90s, when it retained both names. The rock is so enormous that it would take hikers 3.5 hours to circle the base and, even more alarming, it extends at least another 1.5 miles under the desert surface.
