Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell helped establish the Seattle grunge sound in the early 1990s. What was the name of his side project with members of Pearl Jam?
Answer Temple of the Dog
Temple of the Dog was a genuine alternative rock supergroup. . . but no one knew it yet at the time their self-titled album first hit the shelves in 1990. Soundgarden had recently become hot, the object of a major label bidding war. But Pearl Jam was not yet officially formed, and Eddie Vedder was still a gas station attendant/night watchman. Cut to two years later, when grunge had exploded and both bands were enjoying massive success. Their label re-released the album, and MTV put the Vedder/Cornell duet "Hunger Strike" into heavy rotation. The album eventually sold over 1 million copies.
