"Silent Night," written by Joseph Mohr and performed in 1818, describes the stillness surrounding the birth of Christ. The Biblical passage in Luke 2:1-20 refers only to one group of people (besides angels) speaking during Jesus' birth. Who were they?
Answer The shepherds
In Luke 2:1-20, only the shepherds spoke, saying to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem," in addition to references to them spreading the word, glorifying and praising God. Everyone else was pretty "silent" but the shepherds wouldn't be quieted.
