Praying mantises are amazing looking animals, and they have some bizarre features. They have two eyes, but only one what?

Mantises have a very crude ear that that's strangely located on the underside of its belly, just in front of its hind legs. The mantis cannot discriminate the direction of a sound, nor its frequency. But it can detect ultrasound, so it's able to evade bat predators.
