Originating in ancient West Africa, this breed is very uncommon in Europe and North America and has been historically linked to the Tuareg nomads. What is it?
Answer Azawakh
The Azawakh breed takes its name from the Azawagh Valley which includes what is today's Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. It is thought that the Azawakh originated there — although it is hard to pinpoint because the breed is most closely associated with the nomadic Tuaregs.
