One of the highest-grossing non-English language films of all time, which 1997 movie tells the story of an Italian Jewish family during the Holocaust?

Answer Life is Beautiful

Life is Beautiful was filmed in the ancient Tuscan hill town of Arezzo, in the same province where writer/director/star Roberto Benigni grew up. While not everyone received the mixture of comedy plus Holocaust with open arms, critics and audiences overwhelmingly embraced the 1997 film. Benigni took home the Grand Prix at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, as well as the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of a devoted father trying to protect his young child from the horrific reality of their Nazi concentration camp by pretending that the Holocaust is a game.
