One of Jesus' apostles was named Thomas, and his nickname was Didymas. What does Didymas mean?

Thomas was a twin, though there's no explanation about his other half. Also, there's no mention in the Bible of how the twin felt when Thomas got picked but he - or she - didn't. Others called him a doubter, but Thomas had a deep faith -- sometimes he just needed confirmation.
