Not to freak you out, but the bubonic plague was actually spread by insects. Which tiny creatures pass this disease from animals to people?

Answer Fleas

Believe it or not, the plague - or Black Death - was and continues to be spread by tiny fleas, more specifically the rat flea. An infected rat gets bitten by a flea and then that flea can pass it to people through its bite.
