Created by Zuckerberg in a state of post-breakup inebriation, the site allowed users to vote on the attractiveness of fellow students — whose photos he had acquired by hacking into Harvard's network servers and then downloading the images without permission. The site caught on like wildfire, gaining so many users at once that it crashed the school's entire system. According to the school's newspaper, the Crimson, Zuckerberg was accused of “breaching security, violating copyrights and violating individual privacy." Nonetheless, they didn't kick him out.
