North Africa got hit hard during WWII. Which country was not a major battleground during the North African Campaign?
Answer Senegal
Over the course of the North African Campaign, from June of 1940 to May of 1943, the battlegrounds included Egypt and Libya in the Desert War; Algeria and Morocco in Operation Torch; and Tunisia in the Tunisia Campaign. Major fighting did not occur in French West Africa, although the Tirailleurs Senegalais fought for the French and the Allies unsuccessfully attempted to take the port of Dakar.
