Ha Long means "descending dragon", and you might just picture it when you visit Vietnam's famous Ha Long Bay. The UNESCO World Heritage site is made up of 1,600 uninhabited islands in the Gulf of Tonkin. The legend goes that the dragon, along with her children, were sent to guard the country from invaders. The dragon is even said to have sprayed jade or emeralds. Was she fighting invaders or paying them off?
