Currently a museum ship in Connecticut, what is the world's oldest surviving commercial vessel and the sole remaining wooden ship from the nineteenth century?
Answer Charles W. Morgan
In 1966, the Charles W. Morgan ship was declared a national monument of history in the United States. The ship, constructed in 1841 and active until the early 20th century, was used to collect whale blubber used in oil lamps, until it was anchored for good in Mystic, Connecticut and repurposed as a museum in the 1940s.
