What Porsche model was first mass-produced two years after its release in 1948, and was made until 1965?

Porsche began the production of the 356 in 1948 in Austria, where roughly 50 vehicles were made. The plant was then transferred to Zuffenhausen, Germany in 1950. The production of the 356 lasted until 1965, far after the introduction of the successor model 911. Around half of the 76,000 units produced have survived.
