Answer Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

On a fated train ride, delayed from Manchester to London, J.K. Rowling came up with the billion-dollar idea for Harry Potter. She plotted out the seven-book series over five years, arriving in Edinburgh in 1993 with the first three chapters in her suitcase. Writing mainly in longhand, she is said to have worked on her book in a cafe called The White Elephant with a window overlooking Edinburgh Castle. It's no great wonder where she got her inspiration for Hogwarts.
